Dear little Girl;;

Received your lovely letter and Papa and I appreciated it more than you can ever know until you get one from your little girl. I certainly hope and pray that you will have one that will give you the comfort that you have given us.

Papa has been out calling all afternoon. He called on Mrs. Megin (the daughter of Mrs. Blouin[)] and on Mrs. Fassett. Yesterday, Papa went to the Dentist's and the Dentist begamn [sic] to drill on a back tooth and then decided it must come out. He took it out and found that it had an abscess on one of the roots as big as a pea. That has been generating pus for some time and I imagine Papa will feel much better now that that is out. When he came home he felt pretty well played out and it was so cold that he stayed in and did not go to the Lecture at Mrs. Whittemore's. It was quite swollen but did not pain. I am so relieved that he is taking an interest in getting those decayed teeth out.

Chester Bosworth has flunked and is home. His mother said that he did not like the course and will stay out a year and go to work and save the money to go back later and take another course. Mrs. Fassett said that Howard is having a fierce time. He was sent out to a farm and the owner is making him do harder work than the hired men. He is up working at 5.30 and has to keep at it sometimes until 10.30 at night. He was written to the college complaining of his treatment.

Mr Fassett has been sick in bed with the "Flu" for five weeks and Mrs. Fassett has had the whole farm to take care of with one hired man. Must have been terrible in this weather. It was bitter cold here to-day. Only ten last night and it didn't moderate much to-day. I am out in the kitchen with the typewriter. Before I forget it, Papa ordered a large bottle of agarol and double quantity of your medicine from Mr. Beirnie. I hope it gets to you to-morrow. (Wednesday) Papa thought thatas [sic] long as he was sending the agarol, he would send the medicine. That will probably last for quite a time. I am going to have supper now. Papa has had a nice nap. I am going to have tomato juice a la Worcestershire, cabbage leaves stuffed with chopped meat, onions and bread and jelly etc. It smells delicious. I just heard Brownie moaning to come in. I went to the door and he came in but Andie wouldn't budge. She has company. A new lovely black cat with white whiskers and she was real coy. I left her out to visit. Brownie was quite disgusted.

Pater procedit: Mama is now putting finishing touches on supper. It has been awfully cold here. I surely shall be glad when winter is over this time. I get so tired of driving carefully for fear of ice that may be just ahead. Old Juggie looks rather the worse for wear -- but is looking forward to sporting some new parts soon.

Oceans of lotions!
