Dear Mama & Papa,

Greetings! How are you? You know that Katherine also had a cold when we started back to school. My cold has travelled [sic] up & now is in my nose. I, have felt pretty mean all day & haven't done much. I had a chem quiz today which went pretty well considering that it is the first one after vacation. I had my physical examination today. Officially I weight about 8 pounds less and am about an inch taller than last year. My posture has gone down from B- to C+ but my posture picture is the same. My lung power, and this is the most amazing has increased from 2.2 at the beginning of last year to 3.85. This is a tremendous increase and the teachers were most amazed. What do you think this means? Aside from these things, I guess I am about the same.

I handed in my slip choosing my major subject & my reasons why.

I received a nice little note from Dr. Adams saying that he hadn't been able to get my poem published.

Quite a number of the seniors have blossomed out with new cars. They are allowed to have them at spring vacation provided they have an average of B- or over.

It has been beautiful weather up here ever since I got back. A lot of the girls are beginning to don their light dresses. Sally is quite definitely going to Michigan next year and has offered me her radio. I of course accepted it. Sally's sister is going to have another baby in October.

My hair seems to be working quite nicely. When you finish reading the American magazine would you send it up to school with my stuff? - - no hurry or anything.

My spring gym is tennis & it comes at 10 on Mon & Wed & 3 on Thurs. This means that I only have two classes on Tues. morning the 1st two periods. The rest of the day is free. It also means that I can leave on Friday at three instead of five.

The tooth brush we got is too small - it is the regular youth size. When you send up anything I got devour some cheeze [sic] crackers[.]

Do Brownie & Andie seem to miss me?

My stockings are working fine. I certainly did have a swell time at home this vacation.

I hope the art material was a little bit of help. Please let me know how it comes out.

I must close now & see if I can't get some reading done.

Love & kisses,
Bessie

P.S.
Thanks for the first day covers. Could use some more stamps.
