Dear Mama & Papa,

Hello! Thanks for the letter.

The Chem. blue book wasn't too bad. I don't imagine I got a very good mark in it though. Wish me luck in it anyway. Tues. night the Soph - song & skit was a big success. My Big Sister sent me a spring corsage & we all dressed in white & had a lot of fun. Yesterday I was quite tired because of my rather long seige [sic] of staying up late to study. Yesterday I played cards with Sally & the Spanish teacher. Tonight the Spanish teacher was sick & Sally had a date with the boy at Mass. State. We played cards & then I did my French. The boy asked Sally over for one of his fraternity's Big Ball May third so I guess she has made quite a hit. He was the one she met at the barn dance.

Today I started menstruating but took the medicine & didn't feel sick at all. Today we were celebrating peace week on Campus & we had a special assembly at 10:30. Kids were walking around with plackards [sic] with catchy place slogans on & we had the enclosed pamphlet on our seat.

[Trifold pamphlet; only the front is scanned here]

The speaker who was from N. Y. U., however, turned out to be a very sensible speaker - condemning the pamphlet & a number of the peace organizations. He said that the only way to stay out of war was to prevent war from being. He said the U.S. might even have to go to war. He favored an organization like the League of Nations but with an international police force to enforce their decrees.

Must close now & retire.

Lots of love,
Bessie

P.S.
Thanks for the stamps.
