Dear Mama & Papa,

Hello! Greetings! Just a few words to let you know I am O.K. Thanks for the handkerchiefs. The Spanish teacher liked the Evil Eye a lot. (Excuse the writing please I'm using an old pen.) I am studying history. I have the exam Mon. I have Chem Tues & then I'm thru' with exams. We had a holiday yesterday and a parade for celebration along with an academic procession & a dramatic address by Mr. Manley.

I went to the History Club tea yesterday & had a wonderful time. Miss Tatlock almost kissed me. She actually remembered my name & that my father was a Methodist minister. When Miss Barns [sic], the head of the history dep't started to introduce me, Miss Tatlock "Oh I know Miss Nesbit. She started with me." Ha! Ha! Now what do you think of that? Mr. Cramer & Mr. Gratten were also there. The kids are awfully nice & I'm so glad I'm majoring in history. The club is for history majors & meets everyother [sic] week to have informal discussions on current problems etc. The food was swell & everyone was so nice & friendly. There are twelve people from our class majoring in history. They made me feel that I belonged & they were pleased to have me. It really was swell. Miss Barns is awfully nice. Well I must stop raving & do a little more studying.

Could you possibly send me about $5 before next (this coming) Tues. I have some little debts to pay. I also have to pay my bookstore bill, but that doesn't have to be paid till just before I leave. (a little over $30)

Lots of love,
Bessie
