Dear little Girl: Received your lovely letter when Papa and I returned from New Haven. I can only touch over very little to-night. It is 7:30 P.M. Papa had a lot of things to do in New Haven. He went to the Woman's College - and they entered his name there and the President (Mrs. Lytle) showed him around. It was the "girl-child" of Yale - if you know what I mean. They have a beautiful new building - cost 80 thousand dollars - and 35 pupils. The professors at Yale are their teachers. It will gradually turn into a Barnard. The tuition is around 1095. They have 30 resident students and 5 living in New Haven. It is very interesting - for it is something new. If you major in Music - you attend all the music classes at Yale. I think it is under Yale in the same way. Whether Yale is putting up the money, I do not know. Dr. Brewer, the Chaplain is a friend of Pops's.

About the Nylon stockings. I was talking to Miss Clayton about them. She says the ones they have at Sugenheimers are very poor but the ones at the Norwash Store in Naugatuck - are wonderful. They cost 1.15 - are a little heavier than the 1.35 at Sugenheimers - and wear like iron - and feel so good on the feet. Had worn them for 3 months. As soon as we have a little cash, Papa thought it would be a good idea to buy a pair for you to try. We have been quite short of cash[.] That is the reason - that I haven't been buying anything much - and as long as we had to charge the stockings - I am glad that you liked the Mojud - but Papa thinks the Nylon sound good to him.

Had the supper last night. It was a big success - I peeled tomatoes - filled vinegar crusts in the afternoon and then at the supper was the "scraper" - that means I cleaned all the plates as they came in to be washed. It was my turn to do that. After supper (a big crowd) I had rehearsal - and called it a day. I was very tired. This morning the thermometer was 24° at 6 A.M. - but it is warmer now. I am glad the girdles were all right.

Good-night - with lots of love.
Mamma.

P.S. Papa says - please get the blanks in right away - he is bothered at the delay. M.

Also the application for the loan at Mt. Holyoke.
