It has been pretty cold - and when we tried to start the oil-burner, it didn't start. So we have kept warm with gas (as the coal hasn't been put in yet). This afternoon however, after long and arduous labors, Mr. Rogers fixed it up, with comfortable results.
The Epworth League are all "het up" about a party they are going to give on Fri. evening. We hope that Hornbecker and his crowd will come with the music-machine.
Yesterday mama and I went to New Haven - chez Devereaux. Last evening I stopped at Shattuck's, to leave some covers and a check for Dan - saw Mr. & Mrs. S- They asked all about you. Dan was attending night school. He is taking Architectural Drafting.
While in N.H. I called on Fred Mowrey in the N.H. Hospital. His arm is fastened to a sort of frame above his head. Like this.

It is continuously painful. He told me that he had asked Rhea to write you. I didn't tell him that I knew all about it, because I had been at Mowrey's on Sun. and Rhea was writing the letter then.
Have you communicated with Howard? I suppose he is back in Amherst now. By the way I hope to be able to send you some of the medium of exchange tomorrow. I shall do my best. Have you sent a card to Sperry? I expect to see him tomorrow, as his album came today. How is the radio working? I certainly am glad you and I picked out that hat for Mama. She wore it to the conference at Waterbury; and she was the best-looking gal there.
Mama expects to send some nap-naps tomorrow. Also she is writing Gimbel's for clean-necks.
