A Letter Written on Oct 7, 1940

Oct. 7, 1940.

Dear little Girl: Received the lovely Wedding present - you sent to me. It came beautifully - and I was out of both perfume and powder - so you can imagine how delighted I was. I used the last of the powder you had given me on Sat. and threw the can away. I will let Papa speak for himself.

Before I forget - Papa is sending my fountain pen to you - also the one Jean gave you. I know mine writes - because I have been using it - (now I am using the gold trim med one) so Papa says to send the your pen to Waterman's in the box he is sending the old pens up in. They will fix it and send it to you C.O.D. I don't imagine the expense will be much and then it will be done right.

Have been busy all day - dishes etc. Papa has been busy too making calls. He is waiting now to mail the pens. I hope one of them will tide you over.

Thank you - for my present. I like it so much.

Your own Mamma. (over)

We sent the gloves etc. to Sally.
