Dear Princess-with-the-Shining-Braids Coiffeuse;-

Thank you ever and ever so much for Churchill's book. I certainly am glad to have it. 'Tis indeed an appropriate gift to Pop who loves history from his child the History-Teacher-to-be. I expect it will give me many hours of enjoyment.

Yesterday (Sun.) Mama and I went to Waterbury in the evening and ate a birthday dinner at the Front Page.

Today we made another trip to New Haven causa dentium. We never saw the people of N.H. looking so quiet and serious. We agreed that it was due to the realization of the reality of war. Tomorrow evening N.H. is to have a black-out. We bought some black-out curtains ourselves.

It is late; so I sign off.

Your adoring but sleepy
Papa.

Feb. 16/42

P.S. - We sent you some food from N.H. Watch for it.
