A Letter Written on Dec 13, 1938

Dear Bessie:

Rec'd lovely special this AM. - Am on my way to the Dentist's - had to change the present for house-mother - suit instead - what they call a "drum" (round box) containing 3 bottles of Coty's toilet water. Hope you will like it. Something new - in wrapping - Am up to my eyes - so many things this week - each organization thinks - it is the only one. Bring home Greek and Physic Books - Seems like old times - to go over vocab. etc. So glad you and Sally are like sisters. There is nothing like congenial companionship in this whole world.

Will close now and dress -

Lots of love
Mummy.
