A Letter Written on Jan 11, 1941

Dear little Girl: It certainly was good to hear you to-night. I was anxious to tell you about the Epidemic for I didn't want you to write - if you happened to get it. We will not eithre either. I am writing on the atlas - and the paper slipped. I am gilving Papa quinine and hope to ward it off. It is very heavy where the Perley Browns used to live - but most all the cases only last 2 or 3 yrs days (Ha! Ha!) if you don't try to fight it. Am going to New Haven to the Dentist's to-morrow. It is cold and windy here. Papa has just been mounting his stamps - for his talk to-morrow night at the Chase Country Club. It certainly sounds interesting - I have been acting as audience - (pro-tem). We will come right back from New Haven - and Papa can take a nap. and get dressed. Had a nice service to-day. Am enclosing the check for Mr. Bump [no longer with the letter]. Received 5.50 for my Xmas Present for the J.W. Class. That pays for the last half of my radio - I gave it to Papa (5.00) - and he will pay[.] Worth some on account. They call up every other day - and it gets wearisome.

Will close now - and hit the hay: Here is Pop.

[Handwriting change]

Try this on your tongue:- "Five fat flat feet flew five floors." Your lonesome parents rejoiced greatly, hearing their wee lassie's dulcet tones. Sweet dreams, lotions, etc.
