A Letter Written on Feb 14, 1941

Dear Bessie,

Just a few lines, have been going to ans. your letter every night, but it seems to be one thing or another. Well almost all of the Frat. have completed there [sic] sculptures. It is terrible weather to make sculptures because its so warm. As it is one of the Frat. sculpture has already colapsed [sic] but they are rebuilding. Excuse me I didn't think to tell you that this week-end was our Carnival Week-end. They are having skating races this afternoon even though there is water on the ice; they took & planed a layer of ice off & it makes a hard surface. Tomorrow is suppose to be ski racing but it doesn't look too favorable to the skiers now.

In regard to the dance tomorrow night I won't be able to make it because Doris S. is coming up for the Carnival Ball tonight. I guess a gang of the kids are coming up Sun. that is if it doesn't rain & spoil the sculptures. So I may perswade [sic] them to take a ride over and see you, that is if you aren't busy. We played our last game of hockey last week & lost the only defeat of the season & it had to be the last one. What Luck. I was talking to Mother last night & she said that Norman Benson & I believe she said Frank Kirk was drafted & had to leave for camp this coming Wed. Gosh the whole affair looks bad if you ask me. It won't be long now, by time June rolls around they will hand us a diploma in one hand and a gun in the other. Well I guess I'd better
