Tuesday Morning
12-20 AM.Dear little Girl:
We have just returned from the Shattucks - and am I glad to get home - The street was a sheet of ice - and thanks to Dan putting on the chains - we were able to get up the hill - We passed a car that was stuck in the middle of the road - Papa certainly did drive beautifully[.] Received you welcome postal when we returned from Dr. Deveraux's - we were so glad to hear. A strange thing happened. This morning I said to Papa - I have been thinking over Bessie's sickness - especially the trouble with her eyes that followed it - and I don't think it was the potato chips - I think it was an infection similar to the one the girls had last year - and I am going to write to Bessie - and tell her this afternoon - what I think was the trouble - Of course, I said, I suppose I will never know whether my diagnosis is correct - but I am going to tell Bessie anyway. You can imagine how surprised I was when I received your postal - It will take a little time before the eyes - return to normalcy - and you may feel quite a little fatigued from it.
Will close now - the folks were all so nice about you.
Good-night and love from the bunch.
Mamma
