Dear little Girl:-

Rec'd your letters - and we were glad to know you arrived O.K. and to hear the news. Papa sent the papers on Religion to-day and did them up with the two books you wanted. He looked over the papers - and sent what he found. Yesterday, I was busy all day - did the pink dishes etc. and arranged them - in the closet - and to-day - fixed things downstairs. Looks so pretty around. To-morrow, I will clean my room thoroughly.

I have just let the "babies" out to go to the bathroom before they retire. To-day, there has been a school holiday - and the children have been practising basket-ball. Andrewsia sits in the parlor and watches them - sometimes for a half hour at a time.

Papa has been to Epworth League and then to the Finance Com. meeting at Marshall Long's new house. It is a brand new house and Papa says it is quite nice except for the fact that there is no door to the cellar and the tubs and washing machine are down there and the clothes have to be carried upstairs - to put them on the line, which is very inconvenient.

Papa went to the stamp club last evening - Had a nice time - Dan wasn't there. Papa thought it would be nice to send a postal card to Mr. Foster - showing some view of the college - saying something like - "Hello - from Mt. Holyoke" - or some one of many other captions - but it would be a friendly thing to do. People like it.

Haven't any news - except what I hear on the radio - Naugatuck is getting enormous war orders - that means - prosperity - and that means - the salary on time.

Glad you are taking care of your cold - don't let it get the better of you. Wasn't it strange that Miss Laird is coming - we spoke so much about it - when you were home. She is a wonderful woman.

Good-night
Love from us all
Mamma.
