Monday -Dear Bessie -
I was so glad to hear from you but hope you are in much better health by now.
Life has been quite exciting since I returned to the old homestead here in Astoria. I went away with Muriel to Sag Harbor, L.I. for two weeks and then I spent the fourth of July week-end with some friends at Bayville, Long Island. However, the weather over the fourth was not at all favorable for bathing or any other out door sport.
I have been hearing quite regularly from the "one and only" army man - at least he is the only one in my life. He seems to be quite definitely camped up in Manchester but plans to ask for a transfer back to Westover. I hope he gets it but, I am afraid my academic record will suffer accordingly.
Incidentally, I received my marks and was very pleased. I got two As in my education courses (hurrah), B+ from Bailey & Miss Mill, B from Mr. Cramer and Miss Shipman. You must have done beautifully with Mr. Cramer if I managed to pull a B.
Marge was over for a week end before she left for Harvard. We had a grand time. Marion and I have warbled over the phone several times. As yet I have not seen Bobby C. up at Columbia.
My courses are quite stiff but very interesting. I have a professor Evans and Slasson. Please write soon - regards to all - especially the cats -
Love
Rhea
