Dear little Girl: Was so glad to hear that the box arrived O.K. Have been busy to-day - lots of little things. Papa developed a slight cold yesterday - so many colds everywhere - so I dosed him up - and to-day he is much better. Soda, aspirin, agarol, etc. etc. etc. I also got some benzoin - but it has not been needed. He has just been down to the P.O. Has a flat tire - so had to walk - but feels very good and has had no fever. To-night, Papa was going to the Masons - but on account of the smoky room - he has decided to stay home. He is now upstairs taking a little nap - before suppers - Baked spam and potatoes - tomato juice - and parsnips[.] Did I tell you, the toilet is fixed - it began to overflow (the tank) so Mr. Rogers came and put in new almost everything in the tank. It was just worn out like the one horse sleiy. [?] He said it was lucky we called him - for he has had to go back to the hospital. Went on Saturday - for observation. The X Ray shows a little shadow - in the kidney - not a stone - but the Doctors think it may be a ruptured blood vessel. Did you read that the secretary that the Duchess of Windsor has - is a graduate of Mt. Holyoke. I was very proud to read of it. The more you hear of Mt. Holyoke - the higher your regard for it is.

The Church dates are beginning to assemble. On Sunday afternoon, the Christmas entertainment of the S.S. Then on the 27th The Fidelity Bible Class are going to have a dinner at Stratton's, the new Restaurant. One dollar per head Your choice of Turkey, Chicken, Steak or Seafood. We told Mrs. Johnson - we would let her know your choice - when you arrived home. Pop and I are choosing turkey - it is easy to chew - (this is not an attempt at punning) I am anxious to try the new Restaurant. Mr. Davis supplies it with fish and other things. I think he has some stock in it - but that is only surmise.

[handwriting change from Mamma to Pop]

This is Father's most recent portrait. How ever I am dosing strenuously, so that I may be in proper trim to enjoy the homecoming of our dearest Junior. I am very much interested in your curriculum for next semester; and am looking forward to your fuller description of it. I enclose herewith check [no longer with the letter] covering approximate cost of railroad ticket in case you need it. With the tire out and the roads as they are, there is no chance of my being able to drive to South Hadley on Thurs. But let me know where to meet you.

Lotions!
