April 5 '41.Dear little Girl: Rec'd your welcome letter this A.M. I surely would have been disappointed if the letter-man had "passed by." but he didn't.
I think it would be so nice if you could drive down with Miss Hussey - and also if Miss Hussey would stay to lunch on her way to Milford. I would have everything ready - so she would not have to wait - and everything would be spick [sic] and span.
About our going up to S. Hadley. We have planned it for Friday. We will write you later what time we will arrive. It will be early. Papa got your B's and slip to-day from Sugenheimer's. Will bring them up with us.
Papa is wondering whether you could take the two days off from your reading but he says you know best about that. If you do come for lunch, please let me know ahead so I will have everything ready.
Would you like me to make some fudge - choc and peanut - and bring up some crackers or cheese or something? I know you know what you would like me to bring -
In haste
Mamma
