Naugatuck Methodist Church
Naugatuck, ConnecticutRev. William M. Nesbit, Ph.D., Minister
15 Frederick Street
Phone 4236Sweet, sweet Child;-
Last evening we had the Strawberry Supper -- and it certainly went over big, in spite of the heat. The church basement was so cool that I went back home for Mama's sweater. The place felt just like one of the air-conditioned "Coolest Spot in Town" variety.
Today the John Wesleys are having an outing at Floyd's.
I am glad to announce however that you will be home in time for a large number of the festivities.
Mama sang beautifully at the D.A.R. affair day before yesterday. All the Watertownians were glad to hear her again. They said it seemed like old times. I was waiting, parked in the driveway, and as the stream of cars passed out you should have seen the crowd smiling and waving to "Mrs. Nesbit's husband" as in days of yore. You know, there is a unique distinction that I alone in the whole orbis terrarum enjoy --- others may envy as they may -- but I am IT. Mama's Husband and Betsey's Pop!!
Tomorrow is Children's Day. All the kids will be there "with yellow feathers in stead of hair." Mama is going to sing "The Ninety-and-Nine."
Andrew's conduct is very reprehensible. When you get home, you will have to sit by her to keep her from gathering ornithological specimens. Brownie is quite disgusted with her.
