Dear little Girl: Have just finished all the envelopes - am going to get the supper and then go the Womanless Wedding. Dan is to be one of the bridesmaids - so Papa thought it would be nice to go. Before I forget - What time do you get off on Wednesday - please let us know - so that we can plan. I am wondering whether you found your gloves - Have been busy all day - laundering etc. I am so glad that you are a senior this year - instead of a freshman - because - thing are going very high in the next 2 yrs - but the pay will be good - factory-work (fairly easy) $32 a week - and I am told many teaching positions and other positions will be open. That is very encouraging. No hair-dressers will be available - the hairdressing schools are deserted, and by next year - permanents will be up to 15.00 on acc't of the luxury tax. I was told this by folks in the business - but you see - the salaries are much higher - a hairdresser (girl) makes $20 - but in other work that same girl can make $30 or more. Brownie is sitting on the desk while I write. We will be so glad when you get home. We are very lonesome and I suppose - the trouble between the factories adds to it. I don't like dissension - with anybody - some people get fat on it. Hope to take the donations of groceries over to the Home for the Aged to-morrow or Monday. Mrs. Clark generally does it - but her grandmother (93) and her mother are both sick - and she works at the Chemical in the bargain - so her hands are full. Will close now -with lots and lots of love - from a waiting bunch.
Mamma.
