Rev. Dr. William M. Nesbit
230 Portsea Street
New Haven, Conn.My own dear little girl;--
Papa and I have been up in the attic all day gathering our things all on one side -- for Mrs. Hudson and Mrs. Hough are coming on Wednesday to clean their part of it. It is a nice attic and Papa and I have finished with our part. I killed about 40 large green flies. They were all on the window pane. Yesterday I went over to Dr. Reade. The solution was greenish blue, as it should be and Dr. Reade was delighted. I can now reduce the medicine by degrees until I find just the right dosage. Dr. Reade had a funny experience. A man took the medicine for 2 yrs testing with the Benedict solution. Then he got careless and stopped the tests but kept on regularly with the medicine. He began to have severe reaction and went to Dr. Reade. Come to find out, he was cured did not have any sugar and has not had to take the medicine since and that was over a year ago. he had given the pancreas a complete rest for 2 years and that had done the trick. Dr. said I will not have to go back for weeks. Isn't that fine? Some good news for me.
I will close now as Papa is going to Waterbury to post this. To-night is a meeting of my Sunday-school class so I am going to get the supper home. We are having roast shoulder of pork. Every time I see a shoulder I think of you and Papa weighing them out for the Thanksgiving Baskets[.]
So long, with lots of love,
