Hurlock, Maryland
Nov. , 1935Dear Bessie,
I am sorry that I didn't write to you sooner. I have been intending to ever since you left.
I expected to see you at Dover last Summer. I got to go and I certainly did like it. I also hope I have the chance to go again.
The W. Y. P. J. C. has never been started again. We do have a Junior Choir though. I got into this by chance. We sing every Sunday morning after the prayer. So far we all wore white white [sic] with dark blue collars. The boys wear dark blue ties. We have sung about four times already. Soon we want to get some sort of cloaks or capes, I don't know the exact name for them.
We have raised enough money to fix the Sunday School Room like the main room. They are also going to fix the befry, [sic] and last week the windows were fixed.
There is ten cases of Typhoid Fever around here. THey think it was started from the Baptist Church Supper. All of those who have it were there. We were all given the serum Friday. for the first time. Three of the Jaynes family at Harrison have it. Esther and Mary M[...]; Louise and Mr. Tommy Nickols, Barbara Nickols father and sister; and several others.
The girls won the county championship at Field Ball. We haven't missed but once in seventeen years. The boys are still playing[.]
I hope you and Dr. and Mrs Nesbit are well. I had the Intestinal Flue over the week end. Virginia has a bad cold and except from that we seem to be getting along very well.
Sincerely yours,
Mildred [Bradley]Please excuse the ink spot on the front.
