Dear Bessie,

Thank you so much for the picture of Damascus and especially for your thought of me at Christmas. You know I have the "wanderlust" in my veins and this picture of Straight Street in Damascus, together with a hooked called "Two Vagabonds in Spain", which I got for Christmas makes me want to board a ship and go straight to Spain and Damascus!

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and that you have a nice vacation. The days seem to fly by, don't they? Vacation will be over before we realize it.

I hope the New Year brings you and your father and mother much happiness.

Again, many thanks for the picture, Bessie, and I appreciate especially your thought of me.

Most sincerely,
Caroline Philips.
