Guilford, Conn.
June 3rd 1941Dear Bessie:-
Just a few lines to say hello and how are you.
Your lovely letter received by me should of answered before this but I go out every day for a walk beside doing my own work I get quite tired or lazy.
I think of you often.
I was just talking with your mother over the telephone she says Dr. Nesbit & herself are feeling fine but said you are suffering with a troublesome tooth[.] She also said you were coming home the 9th of June so I thought I would write you once more a[t] college.
You mentioned in your letter about Rev. Mr. Abbe. he is pastor of the North Guilford Cong. Church I hear he is well liked by his people.
I can't write much news as I don't get out much these days that is to say to N.H. I received a church bulletin from Mrs. Longyear today in which I read about Mrs. Moorehead, Mrs. Browns mother she fell down the cellar stairs lay there 5 hrs. before she was found is still in the
hophospital but is recovering. They also mentioned about a Mrs. Phelps. being quite ill.
They are giving a reception for Rev & Mrs. Walker thurs [sic] night he returned as pastor for another year.
It is quite cool hear [sic] tonight had a warm pleasant day.
I am glad for warm weather I can't say I like hot weather.
I am still improving I now weigh 165 lbs. I told mother I am trying to catch up with her.
We are planning to drive to Naugatuck one of these days. Mr. Mac. is quite busy he has to work sundays [sic] and several nights a week so we don't get away very much.
I suppose you will be pleased to get home again.
Hope you are well and wish you the best of luck.
God bless you and keep you watch between us until we meet again.
Best regards from Jim & Bill
Lots of love from myself.
As ever.
Your Friend
Mary.
