Naugatuck, ConnecticutRev. William M. Nesbit, Ph. D., Minister

Phone 4236Dear little Girl:- Received the blanks and welcome letter this P.M. Papa is sending out the blanks to-night with this letter. Just heard Wilkie again to-night. He was very convincing. He said that the "Secretary of Labor" was a man's job and that he would put a man in it. The Polls seem to be changing to a slightly larger vote for Wilkie - but I think it is going to be very close. Unfortunately the Democratic Party can spend an almost untold amount - to buy votes with.
The house is lovely and warm. Mr. Rogers - fixed the oil burner - and it works perfectly. We are only using the one burner - and the whole house is warm. Such a comfort. To-morrow, we are going to have the Epworth League Party. Hornbecker is going to bring over his machine - for the dancing. I will close now - have been very busy all day - did not have time to eat until 8 o'clock. Will write more in detail to-morrow. Papa is sending the blanks "Air-Mail" - Glad and proud to be able to send such high recommendations.
Am enclosing 2 clippings - Wilkie is to be in Naugatuck on Oct. 9th - The details are very vague - It looks as if he was to ride through the town in his automobile. He is to speak in Waterbury.
Will close now - with lots and lots of love - from us all.

P.S. They did not break Fred's arm - they loosened the muscles. He is in a plaster cast. Such terrible pain - but they think the operation will be a success.
M.
