ELN Sunday P.M.Dear Bessie:
I am enclosing a chain letter I rec'd. I am wondering if you would like to try it. If you do O.K. if not discard it. I never tried one but there are some people, who wanted to go in on it so I am passing it along. If I get anything from it I'll give it to you.
Tell your mother I rec'd her letter and it was pleasant hearing from her. I'll answer it some of these days when it isn't so hot. I've been out to Floral Park L.I all afternoon. Went after church to see some English people from the Isle of Man. I really had a delightful day. Just got home at 9:45. We drove to Garden City & saw the Cathedral where [sic], which I thought was lovely.
To-morrow back to the old grind till friday [sic] night. The summer is going all too fast. Labor Day will be here before we realize it.
I'm so sorry, tell your mother I won't be able to come up. The doctor wants me to keep as quiet as I can over the week ends & not do any more walking than is necessary for another couple of months. He thinks going on trains etc is too much climbing steps & walking out of the routine. So I guess I shall have to be content to going occasionally with a friend for an auto ride as I did to-day.
I hope you will have a pleasant summer & that the tooth episode is all over. That must have been a siege.
Will close with best to all
