Dear little Girl: It is the night of the Quarterly Conference - so I am just writing you a few lines before supper. Were we glad to get your letter this morning. Those are the bright stars in our existence, or should I say firmament. Papa has been out all day - arranging committees etc. and everything is done but his report. He is very tired - It is a damp day here - Glad you liked the eats - and that they came O.K.

Love from us all.
Mamma.

[Second letter]

March 18 - 1942
1-40 A.M.

Dear little Girl: Thought you would like to hear about Quarterly Conference. Papa told the Quarterly Conf. that he had asked the Dist. Sup't and the Bishop - that he wished to have another appointment at Conference - His report - and statement came first - so there was no chance for Billings-gate from Herb. So we are going!! Deo volente. We don't know where but we are on our way. I feel happier to-night than I have for weeks. I am so glad.

Good-night -
from a very tired but very happy
Mamma.
