A Letter Written on May 13, 1941

Wee Lassie;-

We certainly had a wonderful time at the Center of Light and Learning. Enjoyed every minute -- pageant -- meeting the girls' folks -- conversing with Our Own -- dinner at the Inn, celebrating Mothers' Day. Behold it was very good. The Stûdy took us back safe and sound.

I hand you herewith a little of the needful. Also I enclose some stamps. [enclosures no longer with the letter]

Dan called up on Sunday night. He was quite upset because he couldn't get a second fellow. I told him if he couldn't, he couldn't. But to write you about it. He said he would. He also said that you could arrange about his accommodation -- but he would pay for it himself. I laughed and said for him to write you about that too. I guess that you have probably gotten his letter ere this. He seemed to be quite pleased about going.

I have been pretty busy rounding up cash for the church. However this morning Calvert and I realised that it has turned out to be our most successful year. Thursday morning I go to Conf.

Mama has been very busy today and is sleeping serenely. I think I shall now make it unanimous.

X - X - X - X - X - etc. etc.
