Dear Bessie,

I hope everything came out all right at the Dentists. I had to go myself last week to have them cleaned and one tooth filled. Mother has been having a terrible time. She was to have a gold filling & he broke off the tooth so expected to have a crown put on and then he said to be sure about everything she should have [...] - They found an abscess so now she is to have them all [...] and may have to have all her teeth out.

We have been having very hot weather. This morning Vacation Bible school began. They roped me in as usual, however, I had planned to take typing at the Adult summer school so as that is from 9-10:30 A.M. I can't go to the church until 10:30. (a half hr. late). They need someone to play the piano badly. It is fun. I help also with the sewing and (general conduct). This morning I thought there was going to be a fist fight between two of the little angels.

The typing begins next Monday. This Wednesday we are going to Mass. for the weekend. Dad likes to see the bonfire in Salem. It makes me furious when I think of the bathhouse we have for the summer especially on these hot days.

The young people went to Playland - an amusement park last Friday night. We had alot of fun. I have been to Young Peoples for past few Sundays. Strange to say there are twice as many fellows as girls. They are all a yr. or so younger than me. Worse luck.

Remember me to your parents. Hope you are all enjoying the summer[.]

Love,
Marion
