Letter Written on Apr 1, 1907

Monday evening [April 1, 1907]

Dear Jennie,

Just a line to tell you why I haven't been to see you and how poor are the prospects of my coming at all. It is a good thing I came home early for mother has been sick ever since - in bed part of the time and as we have no maid, I have been making myself useful. I'm not feeling too well myself and now that mother is a little better shall try to rest a bit. I don't like to leave the house much for it is so hard for mother to talk and the door and telephone bells ring so much. So far I haven't seen any of the girls except Muriel even staying home from church yesterday to rest.

Don't forget to telephone from Muriel's Wednesday.

I think it is fine that your father is coming and am so glad for you. It will be almost better than having him at home Christmas for it will prolong the pleasure.

I was interrupted in the middle of this by callers and now it is after bed-time so good night.

With much love,
Ruby.
