A Letter Written on Jul 11, 1907

My dear Jennie:-

Your congratulatory (what a word) letter came to me the other day while harvesting. You can imagine how glad "the Orator" was to take a few minutes for diversion to say nothing of the pleasure gotten from the letter itself.

Really, it does seem as if I had been rather fortunate during the past scholastic year. Were I asked & denominate last session of "fooling the public." (I am still telling the truth.) However I truly appreciate the interest expressed by friends, in my apparent success.

Yes college friends are indeed "nice things". To them do I owe much more than I shall ever repay.

Now that you are home again I reckon you will soon be coming up to "Beercroft". If so let me know. I shall be glad of the opportunity to see you.

The girls are singing? too much noise to write.

Again expressing my appreciation. I am

a true friend,
Howard.

Thursday.
