My dear Mabel :-Your letter was very welcome as they always are.
There is a lecture tonight on "The Last days of Pompeii" but I am not going as I feel lazy.
The work goes well just now and I like this semester's work better than anything I have had before. I am enjoying Botany and Chemistry especially. I dropped French and was not at all sorry to do so.
When does your vacation come? We have two weeks beginning March twenty-four.
Margaret came out to spend Sunday with me and you may be sure I was glad to see a Methuen face.
It seems strange to hear you talking about Senior privileges when I am only a Sophomore and we started out together.
Sunday everybody was surprised when Mr. Jones, the village minister, resigned. It is rather a difficult position to be in I imagine as there is only one church and a man who suits the town is not always pleasing to the College.
In two weeks the Boston Tech. Glee Club is coming to give a concert. Have you ever heard of them? Do you have a men's Glee Club at Bradford every year?
Last week the Orpheus Club of Springfield were up and gave a very good concert. There were fifty male voices and you can imagine what it was like after listening to three hundred and fifty girls' voices for half a year.
The new cottages are going up quite rapidly and while we plough through the mud now we are looking forward to nice new buildings sometime.
Hoping to see you before very long.
I am
Your sincere friend
Bessie C. Sargent.
Soth Hadley.
February twenty-third.
