Wednesday Morn 8 oclockMy dear Lizzie.
I have only a few moments to write if Howard takes this to the office when he goes to school. Grandma, Ruth, Sarah, & Uncle Charles were here yesterday afternoon when we got your letter and said it was too bad for me to have so many letters and they none. I do not think you can wait long for letters if you think you write often for I always answer yours at once never waiting more than a day after receiving. Howard wrote to you Monday the letter is still in his desk at school and if it takes him as long to remember to take it as did to bring home the book you used to want I am afraid you wont get it until next fall. I can explain the mystery though I am sorry to think you will be disappointed. Marian was intending to go back next Saturday but wanted to surprise you I wrote in that way that you should not think it was her who was coming. Ruth was over and was going to cook something for you and I was to send you more. I will send a box as soon as I can perhaps before we send [...] Goods but I have not seen Mrs. Wales, and do not know her arrangements.
I shall write again in a day or two. how do you want the skirt of your print made how wide the flounce &c.
With much love
Mother.Mrs. Pratt was here yesterday, to collect money to get Mr. Jones some clothes to be decent to go to anniversaries. Mrs. Austin Wales said she stood near him at conference and felt ashamed to see his clothes so worn and shabby.
