Oct. 24, 1920.Dear Miss Turner,
It is a beautiful day, & I'd like to drop in on you this P.M. The nursing situation is running smoothly to the satisfaction of everyone, & unlss something unforseen comes up that will be a closed chapter for the present at least.
This week the Chief & I have disagreed on a matter of policy. Nothing serious, but I registered my point of view quietly but definitely. We have one star man from the west on our staff, - a distinct acquisi. to our force. His life is being ragged out by the few. Personally I feel that it is worth while to conciliate him. The Chief, peeved over a false report, cannot see things that way. I took the man's part. I may be bitter for it, but I'd do the same thing again. We missed our step last year in the same way, & acknowledged it with regret afterward[.] Things run smoothly in my own groove.
How's the back? Let me hear. Do you vote for Cox with Mary Emma?
Affect-
Esther
