from Pittsburgh to Balt-Lady dear,
No disease is developing to affect my coordination. The speech went OK. I like the headmistresses & I saw a lot of them. I didn't meet any "snobs."
Thanks for the long letter. Father sent the snapshot & asked me to thank you for it & the note. May I have that film? The picture is very good & I should like to have it enlarged. It sounds as if your work was going OK. I'll trust you to handle Shaws etc. Let me know how the curriculum matter came out. That matter is the only one that can hand Ann anything. Perhaps they can help her to insight.
Work is jarring [?] in Balto. The extra teaching makes a considerable burden in my work. Only one member of the staff is interested in teaching. The rest have to be caught & dragged to the Disp. Consequently it's easier to do it myself than to tease [?] help. They never had an easier time. They're just darned lazy that's all. The chief kicks & says they don't beef up the ward work. But he doesn't jump on 'em. If he doesn't, I can't! They have no med. lab-work, no phys. exams. to do & yet they're too overworked to attend anything but their wards. The remedy to my mind is a big stick, but he seems to think they will eventually be ashamed of themselves. They don't & never will. They want to give clinics & get a private practice without working for the ability required to attain these positions.
My love to you.
