Lady dear,

I suppose you have heard the extraordinary news that I am to get a ScD. on Tues. Next to proposal of marriage nothing could have astounded me more. I wrote Miss Woolley I should arrive on Monday. (she saying that the College would entertain me as long as I cared to stay). I find that I can leave here Sat. night on the Federal & arrive in Springfield Sunday A.m. about 10.15 (daylight saving). Would you mind finding out from the committee on arrangements if I can be accommodated Sunday as well as Monday, & wire me collect where I am to go? I also wrote Miss Woolley ( should like 3 tickets for commencement if possible. I shall not want but one, & maybe not that. There'll be many others to use these extra ones, & I'd not like to deprive them of the chance.

Thank you so much. I have a lot to tell you when we meet.

Much love,
Esther
