A Letter written on May 16, 1919

The Johns Hopkins Hospital

May 16, 1919.

Lady dear,

I'm very sorry to hear about Miss Safford. Your troubles are legion, & you bare with such equanimity. You are my constant inspiration.

Dr. Meyer was eager to hear of the trip. In fact he keeps asking what the girls got out of the lecture, & how I thought it supplemented his etc. etc. Naturally I cannot answer very well. Perhaps sometime when you feel in the mood you'd write him & sum things up. He is so eager that people grow wholesome & sane. And the message was all his. I never want you to lose sight of that fact for a moment. He is so wonderful.

Thanks for the Smith College clipping. They are going to have a full program. I hope much learning will not make them mad.

I am to have that growth cut out of my foot as soon as I can spare a moment.

Much love to you,
Esther

Thanks for the cheque.
