A Letter written on Jun 14, 1910

Stresa, Lake Maggiore [Italy],
14 June, 1910.

My dear Miss Turner,

I am very glad to forward the other half of the loan,- three hundred dollars of which I sent by check about a week ago. My sister's letter just arrived, announcing $1500 more to draw on than I expected, has thrown me into a mood of reckless extravagance, and I am wishing time and weather would permit of our driving over the Simplon. I only found out this morning that it is convenient to arrange from this end. So if my previous note gave any hint of pressing poverty, you may be sure I am not at present in need of funds!

Miss Smith is at Rothenberg today, and already on the way home, one might say, at least on the last weeks of travel before sailing. My sisters have been two or three days on the ocean; altogether,- the sympathetic desire to start homeward myself seems very strong just now.

On the other hand, friends are coming over. Miss Snell's party sails the 18th, Saturday, and my aunt and uncle from New Jersey only a few weeks later. I have no doubt of seeing friends this summer, even without definite plans, for so many are coming.

Wishing you all success in the Summer School work, and enjoyment in all you do.

Cordially yours,
Dorothy C. Rowell.
