Ches. Chip Farm.
Dear Sis,
I spose I'll have to write to you now. We have just got the table cleared off and Mrs. Chipman Billy and myself are all writing.
Baby is lovely, and he did not bark at me but once or twice whem [sic] we came in last night. I don't know what time we got here but I guess it was about half past 8. (Please excuse this writing) Billy and I are going over to Talcottville. (I don't spose thats spelt right.) to mail the letters. It is a lovely morning! I suppose Gwen will come this after-noon.
I have not seen any thing of the farm yet except the barns and the house etc. because it was so dark last night. Did you have your daily thunder shower last night? We did not have any here that I know of. Mrs. Chipman said they had an awful one here Saturday night. They thought the barn was struck once it sounded so near. Well dear I will say good bye now.
from Bloss.
P.S. I hope you will have a lovely time.
