A Letter Written Sep 4, 1908

South Hadley, Mass.,
Sept. 4, 1908.

My dear Mr. Day:-

Quite unexpectedly I had an opportunity to sell a little bit of land which I have supposed valueless. This makes it possible for me to make a small payment. I am so anxious to make the full payment when the interest is due Sept. 6 that I have borrowed the remainder. According to my figures that amount is $310.21 checks for which amount I enclose. I have kept a record of all the payments and computations of interest; shall I send them? You will perhaps prefer to amke your own computation rather than to go over mine as any mistake would be more readily evident. I hope, however, there is none.

My love to Mrs. Day.

Very truly yours,
Clara F. Stevens

I might have added that I found it possible to borrow from our fund for running expenses so that I shall not have to pay interest. We have been able to live very economically this summer.
