Peiyang Women's Hospital
Tientsin, China. This book has been out of press for sometime. It has been well received by parents here. Many have expressed that this is just the book they need for care of their children. I tried 2000 copies for my first edition but soon I shall have print my second edition. Every mother gets a copy before she leaves this hospital. Every registered case gets a book on prenatal care. We are venturing another book on patent medicine and quack medicine. Our people need to know truth in regard to health problems. Ignorance is a curse and knowledge is a blessing. You will find your name in my preface with other names of my professors. I have acknowledeged [sic] my indebtedness to you all for whose impetus in inspiring me to do my share for my people. To the late honorary Mr. Levi Barbour I have acknowledged his foresight and generosity to Michigan University thru whose goft [sic] many women are enabled to get higher education thus making themselves sueful [sic] to their respective countries.
[A letter dated Jan 12, 1935 mentions Me-iung is sending the book to Abby.]
