A Letter written around Oct 1, 1929

My dear Miss Turner;

I have just arrived at Ann Arbor and have gotten as far as registration. I feel lost also for the University is much larger than when I was a student- Tomorrow morning I would go over to University Hospital for my appointment for that is what Dr- Cowie said would be the best thing for me- I would write to you later in regard to my work-

While I was at Saint Louis I sent you a small package containing two cusions, one card case and a cushion for Miss Dickens- Card case and cushions are for you and the other gift is sent to Miss Dickens by Soo Ying. As soon as I can I would visit you in person- How much time I have I do not know now- But I hope that I would be able to get much out from University Hospital.

I want to thank you for your special interest in my niece Vung Yuin Ting- I have written to her in asking her to try her examinations for both Mount Holyoke College and Bryn Mawr College- My choice for her would be of course Mount Holyoke College- The office has given me very encouraging news in regard to a full scholarship- We are able to take care of her travelling expenditures, her vacations and her other fees for her long stay in America for we are anxious that she should develop to be an useful woman to our country- She seems to have capacity for a medical career. Her tonsils were out last summer and she is developing to be a strong woman physically also. I have asked her to send to offie [sic] her credits of her junior year. Miss Grace Yang is at head of Mctyeire School and she would be able to tell my niece of her preparation.

As soon as I know my work I would write to you again- This is just to let you know that I am thinking of you and that I am really in your country.

With love.

Yours lovingly,
M. I. Ting.
