Williard Parker Hospital,
New York City.My dear Miss Turner:-
I thank you for your gift to me. The Life of Pasteur should be read by every student. I read the introduction already. I studied Osler's book on Medicine. Virchow's pathology was translated into English by my favorite professor - Dr. Warthin at Michigan University. Joseph Lister - his name is familiar to me also.
I have just finished my first month's service. The complications of measles that I learned at bed side will never be forgotten. The next month, I shall be on scarlet fever probably and I am looking forward with same enthusiasm. The time is drawing so near for me to go home. There is so much to learn yet. The professors and visiting men are so good to me because they know that I am anxious to be efficient in my profession.
With anticipation of seeing you soon,
M. I. Ting.
