My dear Miss Turner:-Your kind letter came yesterday and I thank you for it. How I wish that I can see you and talk to you in person. School opened Monday and we are getting settled. Half my work is in hospital this year. I worked a little at hospital this summer. I took patient's history and made urinary examination. Most of our patients are foreigners. I can understand them pretty well now. I am sending you a war bulletin and there is quite a little on occupational disease. I have read a few articles. We had a special course in war pathology last turn, of-course only afew [sic] lectures as we had very heavy program already.
I was at Chicago with Dr. McLean and had a delightful visit together. I wonder if Dr. Welch is a daughter of Professor Welch of Johns Hopkins. I am so anxious to get in that medical school. I like Ann Arbor but I do feel we do not have big clinics here. There are ten Chinese girls this year. I was the only one two years ago. I am coming East someday.
With much love,
Ting.
