A Letter written on Sep 22, 1930

Sept 22, 1930

322 Bedford Avenue
Buffalo, New York

My dear Miss Turner,

Tak for sidst. (Thanks for since, or days we last met)

Thanks for the photo & letter, which they say was about the best I have from my visit to Norway, Sweden & Denmark. All has been very pleasant - most people very cordial from the 'King down' - I love the Northland better than ever. I came home Sept 15 on the "Stavangerfjord" Nor. Am S/S Line - all was fine - passengers mostly Norwegians - though few Am from Mr & Mrs Manning and Mr & Mrs Lee from Mass. I guess I dont feel like putting on harness again - once in a while I go to New Bedford to my daughter Mrs Edw P. Seaver Jr. M.D. forerly of Cambridge Boston.

What wonderful colours of flowers in Norway! What stately city is Stockholm and a well managed city of Kjöbenhavn is. How uncivilized all our Pullmans, hogged together in a "Jumble" - all kinds of fits & misfits.

Yet U.S has so much you miss when it is away. I had a great meeting with the Lilly, on "Stella Polaris" in Bergen when they went to the Polar Region. Spitsbergen. Svalbard.

I hope your continental trip was fruitful & congenial. I like the Ocean trip like this once a year.

Hope you are well & full of new pleasant interests. So pleased to have met you.

Cordially & sincerely
Yours
S. Munch-Kielland

I had a great reunion with the hungarian-roumanian lady Miss Ratyea? on the top of the Norwegian Mountains - from Bergen to Oslo it is queer to meet again - people are often so glad to see each again even after the short aquaintance [sic] made on an Ocean trip. So I will be much pleased to see you again!
