Miss Abby H. Turner,
Mount Holyoke College,
South Hadley, Mass.Dear Miss Turner:-
I was very sorry to learn through the morning's paper of the burning of Williston Hall and the consequent loss of the apparatus and supplies belonging to the several departments using the building. I can readily see that under existing conditions it will be very difficult to replace much of the destroyed material that will be needed for class-room and laboratory teaching for the remainder of the year.
I have in my department several microscopes, microtome and similar pieces of apparatus which will not be used this year owing to our decresed [sic] attendance, because of war conditions, that I should be very glad to offer you for use in the physiology department for the remainder of the college year, provided, the loan meets with the approval of our college authorities.
Very sincerely yours,
Jas. B. Paige
