Dear Miss Turner,
Thank you very much for your note of 28th November.
I have waited till I had the chance of asking a scientist the meaning & date of the A.A.A.S. I am disappointed to find it is 27-30 December, & I shall be in or near New York 22 Dec. - 5 Jan 7. My address there is Women's University Club, 106 East Fifty-second Street, N.Y & I think it was you who told me to stay there - for which I thank you.
I have indeed kept in mind, & am glad that you have, that you suggested my visiting Mount Holyoke during my year over here. It is indeed kind of you.
I very much want to have a look at Boston & to see something of American colleges & America beyond Bryn Mawr. I loved Washington where I spent Thanksgiving, all the universities & colleges seem to be shut the whole of our Christmas vacation, so I thought I could come your way in our Easter vacation if that wouldn't clash with your engagements.
I could comeThe Easter vacation starts Wed:23 March- 30 March, & I intend (privately)! to return Monday 4th April if I find I can't fit my journeyings in otherwise. Would it be possible to put me up for a night sometime between 23 Mar: & 4 Ap:, I do hope so. I have had to renounce my more ambitious plans which included California & the Grand Cañon Colorado! Over our side of the water one can't imagine the vast distances, & the fatigue entailed - I've no idea of the cost, a fortune, probably! I had influenza when I left home & was sick all the voyage which helped curbedmy ambition!I should love to see you again, & shall be very sorry if you come to Philadelphia & I have to miss you, which seems likely. I find myself more tied than I expected here.
Yours very sincerely
Katharine Wallis.
