A Letter written on Jun 7, 1918

Dr. Mary Sherwood,
Dr. Lilian Welsh,
        The Arundel, N. Charles St.

Baltimore, Md. June 7, 1918.

My dear Miss Turner,

You are doubtless as busy as I am but certainly not so dirty. After spending an hour on my desk trying to unearth unanswered correspondence, I find myself, my hands, my clothes and my paper so grimy (does that word need an "e"?) that I do not know whether to write you this note or wait until to-morrow and try to unearth a new supply of paper which is in its proper place but involves labor to get. Only a word to-night of apology, and thanks for your trouble and a request if it is possible to give us rooms and bath in the faculty house will you engage them for us. I am thinking that possibly no one will want to lease rooms for so short a time, but if any are to be had we'll take good care of them. I shall write you again in a few days in regard to books.

Sincerely yours,
Lilian Welsh.
