History

Built in 1905 on the site of the 1870 library and named for A. Lyman Williston in 1917. Additions to the building were constructed in 1935 and 1968, and then most recently in the 1990s.

A few minutes ago my roommate went to connect a desk lamp and blew out a fuse, which means that this side of the house will be in darkness tonight. I miss the Ford like everything. Edna."

I'm glad of the calendar, too, for I've been having to use my diary. The papers came this afternoon. You must be just beginning your epidemic when we are getting through. One of our freshmen here died Sunday night, and there has been a Smith col. girl died too, but most of the cases are better and we expect to be free soon from the quarantine. Catharine"

Is it raining in H- [Hartford] the annual "Freshman Rain" is here to-day - Just as tho we didn't feel gloomy enough without a rain. Give my love to all the folks & be sure & write soon. Inscription: "Friday, Nov 19 Dear E - Remember me? We have been away from home so much - Returned from Ontario and then turned around & came up here to visit Gladys our 90 year old friend. Saw Dr. Pattie & took Ethel Eltinge to LUNCH. Ethel used to be under all of us in Mead and has been a good friend since 1930. Have had a most hectic & fine time - Now - home to prepare for the holidays - shall never catch up on my correspondance [sic] - owe everyone! How are all of you? Do hope everything is going well. I plan to start South the 1st of Dec. and stop on the way a few days. The F's write the weather is lovely in Maine now. My best to all the Whites & Perrys. M.R.C.W."
