The students of Mount Holyoke College who have been doing farmers' aid work for two years or more have now branched out on their own. They have organized their own land army and will raise their own crops on a nine-acre plot. Said crops such as potatoes, cabbage, spinach, carrots, etc., will go to feed the collegians, the WAVES and lady Marines who are in training at the college. Members are checking in for a work period here. Mary Alice Pomeroy, of Kalamazoo, Mich., (holding book) is registering students in her "work hours" book. This is a daily record of each student and how much work she does on the nine-acre farm of the college. Most of the girls are experienced, having served as farmers' aids for more than a year to relieve the shortage of farm help around Mount Holyoke. W.5.10-43-3.20 PM"
