The Victory-Eights were founded in 1942 by eight pioneering young women who wanted to aid the war effort and went to Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, MA to sing for the troops. The eight original members founded the tight harmonies of a cappella singing at Mount Holyoke, and through road trips and concerts on campus, started a precedent of good times for the following decades of Victory-Eights.

Forty-eight years and eight albums later, we are the oldest continuing women's [a] capella group in the galaxy (and boy do we feel old). Through the years membership has ranged from eight to fifteen members and this year for the first time in many years we are back to the original eight.

But, breaking away from tradition, a buzz word here at MHC, we did something decidedly different; we gave up our pearls and went laser. Typifying the strength and upbeat outlook of our group, Hustling is a compilation of classic V-8 tight harmony meshed with the modern up-to-date sound of the 1990's. Proving that music is timeless, the current V-8's repertoire spans the forty-eight years of the group's existence; these songs are still enjoyed by modern audiences everywhere.
