"Fish got to swim, birds got to fly," the Motifs have to sing - this, in a nutshell, is the basis from which the Class of '59's singing group has grown. With its organization in the fall of 1955, the group set out to entertain the campus as well as themselves. In the past four years, the Motifs have seen many changes and developments both in membership and in the size of its repertoire.
The Motifs have become a tradition at "Just Desserts," and have sung at class dances, house dances, numerous all-college dances, mixers, octet concerts, on the campus radio station WMHC, and other campus functions, as well as off-campus at Amherst, Yale and Wiggins Tavern in Northampton.
One hope of the Motifs is finally realized in this record.
